Many times, users come across in a situation where he/she finds that their mailbox is overflowing due to coming of continues emails. And thus, this situation increases the actual size of outlook files. However, to avoid such situation, users can begin the archive process by moving their essential emails and other data items which include notes, tasks, calendars, contacts, attachments, etc. to a separate PST file as archive.pst to keep your MS Outlook application fast and clean.

Though, MS Outlook uses AutoArchive to move older items such as emails, tasks, notes, calendars, contacts, etc. to an archive folder that can be accessed anytime from MS Outlook application. Unlike Inbox, Sent and other item folders, an archive is a default folder of MS Outlook which cannot be deleted. It helps users to compact the size of the mailbox to keep the Outlook fresh.

How to Archive emails in MS Outlook 2016 manually?

• Go to File and click on Info.

• Under Info, click on Cleanup Tools and choose Archive option just below the Empty Deleted Items Folder.
